We are passionate about what we do and where we're going as a company. Position Overview: Warehouse Assistant Wilsonart currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant. This person performs warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fills customer orders, inspects material and packs material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.•Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors•Checks and places materials in the correct bin•Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies•Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials•Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders•Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders•Performs total skid count for loads•Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures•Assists the needs of the customer KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to learn computers sufficient to check inventoriesAbility to learn materials inventoriedAbility to learn packing techniquesAbility to learn proper material handling techniquesAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independentlyAbility to drive a lift truckAbility to read and understand customer ordersAbility to operate a sawAbility to enter data at an acceptable speed EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE 1+ year relevant warehouse experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS Performing task with team members which includes lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.Frequent walking and standing throughout the day is also required. ENVIRONMENT Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgmt., laundry workers and yards/grounds staff COMPENSATIONThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Wilsonart, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-$23/HR, DOE.
