The City of Lake Oswego announces an outstanding management opportunity as Streets Superintendent in the Public Works Department.
The Streets Utility Superintendent works under the general direction of the Deputy Public Works Director, and is responsible for planning and coordinating the operations and maintenance activities of the City’s streets department. As Superintendent, the incumbent would hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the work of the Streets utility crews, and assist work crews with difficult jobs as needed. This position is required to respond to after-hours emergencies and other emergency work situations on occasion.

Annual Pay range: $90,941 - $110,493
Non-cash compensation includes medical, dental, vision, PERS employee pick up, and VEBA contribution.
Bilingual Pay: Employees who can speak and/or write a language listed in the top five (5) most common languages spoken in the Lake Oswego School District, may be eligible for three percent (3%) bilingual pay.

Requirements
Maintain records, update maps and accounts for street inventory, including the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Plan, organize and control costs for budgeting; prepare cost estimates of repair work to be performed, and direct the procurement of necessary supplies.
Repair and operate specialized equipment associated with street system operations, including but not limited to: backhoes, loaders, mowers, snow plows and paving equipment.
Coordinate maintenance activities performed by several crews with other City departments; provide technical information about Street infrastructure to other departments as needed.
Answer inquiries from the public about utility concerns.
Ensure that safety rules and regulations are followed.
Manage contractors and city staff on annual replacement or new pavement markings and striping.
Make recommendation on pavement conditions for CIP projects.
Write SOP’s that meet American Public Works Association (APWA) best management practices.
Assist in developing budgets and contracts for street maintenance activities.
