As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.
Job overview and responsibilities
The role of Program Manager - Drug Abatement Administration, plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted execution of Drug Abatement functions. As part of the Drug Abatement Regulatory & Compliance team, it emphasizes maintaining administrative precision and operational efficiency to uphold regulatory compliance across all testing programs.
- Regulatory Administration: responsible for the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the 24/7 drug abatement program. Monitor and maintain compliance with all FAA Part 120 and DOT Part 40 regulations. Maintain detailed records of testing activities, results, and follow-up actions. Coordinate with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections. Track and ensure timely completion of reall administrative protocols. Implement of regulatory updates and changes to administrative procedures as mandated by federal agencies. Maintain employee testing records in accordance with regulatory retention requirements.
- Company Policy Administration: initiate reasonable suspicion, post-mishap, and pre-employment testing in accordance with company policies. Coordinate testing across stakeholders to minimize operational disruption. Review and update administrative manuals to reflect current policy and best practices. Distribute policy revisions to all relevant stakeholders and ensure acknowledgment of receipts. Serve as subject matter expert for policy interpretation and implementation of questions.
- Drug Abatement Liaison: serve as a primary point of contact between the company and third-party testing vendors, Medical Review Officers (MROs), and Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs). Facilitate communication to management regarding testing matters. Process and approve vendor invoices for testing services, ensuring accuracy. Maintain adequate inventory levels of testing supplies in stations.
- Operational Support: maintain proficiency in both urine drug testing and breath alcohol testing procedures to enable operational collection support. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 testing coverage for post-mishap and reasonable suspicion situations.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- Proven expertise in managing administrative tasks and ensuring seamless operations
- Demonstrated operational expertise within the airline industry or a related field, driving efficiency and excellence
- Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to thrive independently.
- Outstanding organizational skills, adept at prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Skilled in supporting employees during crisis situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in establishing and maintaining procedures to gather and review critical information for managing teams or processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

The base pay range for this role is $81,795.00 to $106,602.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
