Description:
The Department of French and Italian seeks to fill a Lecturer in Italian position to teach one or more precepts for ITA 319: The Literature of Gastronomy during the spring 2026 semester. Responsibilities include attending lecture sessions, teaching precept(s), grading student work, and holding weekly office hours. Appointment duty time is subject to enrollments and departmental need, and any appointment is expected to begin January 16, 2026.Essential qualifications: Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, proven experience teaching Italian as a Foreign Language at university level, experience in program and curricular development highly desirable. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. preferred. Experience in culture-based instruction, integration of new technologies and curriculum development required. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Italian Studies or related fields. Expected Salary Range: $81,700 - $86,000
The University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements as applicable, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
