- Appellate Attorney
Description
Clouthier Law, PLLC is a woman-owned boutique appellate firm in the Woodlands, Texas, with a reputation for high standards of excellence. We represent clients of all types, many who have experienced profound injustices. Working in the appellate field affords opportunity to provide meaningful representation on both the individual level as well as helping to shape precedent for the future. Many of us have had difficult life challenges which we have overcome. This humbles us as people as well as lawyers, and it gives us a unique ability to relate to our clients, many of whom are experiencing unimaginable suffering.
What we do:
- Appellate litigation - in state and federal courts, including civil appeals, criminal appeals and writs, family appeals, probate appeals, and bankruptcy appeals. We generally represent the appellant, which requires a great deal of critical thinking and complex research and writing. We also do a considerable amount of post-conviction writ work in both state and federal court.
- Culture of the firm is close knit, casual dress, high level of autonomy with helpful feedback, challenging and meaningful work, fast paced, supportive colleagues, and team-minded. There is a little bit of friendly banter too which makes it more fun to come to work. The firm also promotes work-life balance and encourages efficiency rather than working more hours. Our attorneys have spacious executive offices with expansive views of the Woodlands. The firm tries to make coming to work enjoyable, but we work very hard!
- Benefits include - competitive salary with discretionary bonuses, 401k with company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, complimentary 24 hr access to two-story fitness center in the building, free attached garage parking, flexible PTO policy, work-life balance, a pretty awesome annual Christmas party, bar dues and CLE's paid at the firm's discretion, NO BILLABLE HOURS!, and opportunity to grow as an attorney. This is not a remote position, but there will be opportunity to work from home on occasion.
- Disclaimer - appellate work is extremely difficult and requires a great deal of time management skills along with deep, creative thinking. There are no easy tasks in this job, but it is highly rewarding. We often work together to solve issues, and it gives everyone the chance to grow.
